Ellyn Hennings Jarvis FORT WORTH - Ellyn Hennings Jarvis, 80, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2001, at a local hospice. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial: Following committal services, her cremated remains will be interred in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation: She will not lie in state. Memorials: Those desiring, please make memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1800 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. A native of Wanamingo, Minn., Ellyn Louise was born Nov. 5, 1920, the daughter of Oscar Willis and Daisy Toye Hennings. She married John J. Jarvis of Fort Worth during World War II. Ellyn raised five children, then obtained a bachelor's degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas Christian University. Her education was furthered by a master's degree from Louisiana Tech. She worked 11 years as an employment counselor for the Texas Employment Commission. Survivors: Husband of 59 years, John J. Jarvis of Fort Worth; children, Jonathan Willis Jarvis, Jefferson James Jarvis and his wife, Donna, Jane Jarvis Wertzberger and her husband, Joe, James Van Zandt Jarvis and Julie Jarvis Ogan and her husband, Chris; and grandchildren, Jon, Ben, Dan and Kristyn Jarvis and Jarvis and Chase Ogan.
