Costa Rica Dear Dad, I hope you are feeling well and staying warm (or is it cool now that summer is there in Texas?). I forget which season is current there because down here in Costa Rica the climate is either wet or dry but always the same temperature. I remember trying to adjust the thermostat on your water heater in the garage to warm the water, which caused you some concern. I tried to call you on the telephone a few weeks ago and the unfamiliar voice of some lady answered. She said you were not there any more. This was very unexpected news. No one had told me about any change of address. The lady did not have a forwarding number to give me. Then I tried to call Julie, Jim and Janie on the phone (no time to call Jeff too) for an explanation but was not able to reach any of them. Then I sent an email to them asking what was your new address. On my next visit to San Isidro ten days later I learned that your address had not changed after all. So I suppose the lady was renting your upper apartment and using the old phone number. Anyway, I was thinking that since you are not able to read my news on Internet, you might like to have a paper copy by postal mail. Julie may or may not be sharing my pages with you; I don't know if she has time to read them either. To my great surprise Jim has begun to send a couple of messages on Internet, but for him to share a printout with you may be asking too much among his many projects. Janie is probably close in touch with you by phone but not by hard copy printouts, same for Jeff. In spite of occasional worries in the dark of night about mysterious aches and pains, probably due to over exertion, I think I am all right. Hope the same for you. No plans to change to another address for the time being. Love, your son Jonathan Home Page (jwleaf.org) |
